Acne Remedies
Acne is the problem, finding a fast, reliable remedy is the solution. With there being no shortage of acne remedies available, how do you choose the best one for you?
So many remedies, so many results
The truth about acne remedies is that no single remedy will work perfectly for every single person.Unfortunately people react in different ways to acne remedies. This explains why there are so many acne remedies available. There is no, one size fits all, solution. It may take several attempts to find one that works well, but the benefits make it worthwhile.
If you are looking for a remedy to treat your acne, here are some suggestions for how to work through the process:
1.Clean skin is a priority. Because acne is caused by bacteria, it makes sense to start your search by focusing on clean skin.It is important to have a consistent routine of washing your face with a mild face wash, specifically formulated for acne-prone skin, each morning and each evening.
2.Improve your routine by adding an anti-acne formula. If you are fortunate, regularly washing your face may be enough to keep your acne at bay. If not, try a cleanser that contains a stronger anti-acne formula. Good choices include those containing salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. You may need a stronger one in time, but start your treatment with a milder formulation.
3.Change your anti-acne formula. It is an unfortunate fact of life that not everyone's skin will react favourably to a particular acne remedy. If this happens then try switching to a different anti-acne formula; for instance, if you have been using salicylic acid try benzoyl peroxide instead, and if you have been using benzoyl peroxide try salicylic acid instead.
4. See your doctor for other options.Your doctor or dermatologist can offer specialist help and advice if your, over the counter acne remedy, hasn't provided the results you wanted. He or she has a wide array of choices for helping you get your acne under control, ranging from mild antibiotics to topical creams and gels.Using an antibiotic treatment for a month or two is sufficient for many people to get their acne under control and if required let them return to using an over the counter acne remedy.
There’s no substitute for time
All acne remedies share one common attribute, they do need time to work.Wonderful though it would be to have 100% clear skin after a couple of applications, it just isn't realistic. Gradual improvement however, in a couple of weeks or so most certainly is realistic. It does take time to see an improvement, however sooner or later you will have to decide if you are happy with the improvement. If you are not, try a slightly stronger formula for a few weeks before asking yourself the same question again.
Always keep in mind that you may need to consult your doctor if you suffer a negative reaction to any of the acne remedies you try.Do not forget that the many different acne remedies available work in a multitude of different ways. You could soon be enjoying clean, acne-free skin if you follow this simple recipe. Take some professional guidance from your doctor or dermatologist, mix in a little bit of time, add in the little effort required and reap the benefits your patience deserves.
